This luxury resort hotel and spa is designed to complement and serve a 200 residence golf community. The magnificent 18 hole golf course, fronting the Chavon River, serves as a background for the hotel and spa. The 84 guest rooms were carved from the mountain; reusing the coral rock for the building structure and hardscape and follows the mountain contour while experiencing the spectacular views. As the guest rooms step down the mountain, the large recreation terrace, with whirlpools, becomes the roof of the unit below creating the feeling that the building grew from the mountain. The building consists of a series of attached structures with pyramid shaped clay tile roof, each one housing the different components, as lobbies and receptions, restaurants, back of the house, and a 10,000 S.F. spa. Water is one of the main themes of the project which is surrounded by ponds and features a 240 foot long swimming pool. The image is a modern minimalist South American inspired architecture built with green natural materials as stone, wood, concrete and clay. Most of the stone materials are quarried on site.
