This 5.5 acre site is located in an environmentally protected mangrove area bordering the Oleta River National Park. The program includes a multi-use 4,000 seat sanctuary, auditorium and social hall, an administration building, and various support facilities such as a pool, ritual baths, courtyards and playgrounds. Jerusalem stone, pre-cast concrete and patinaed copper standing seams were used for the Ark, sloped roof sections and on the dome. Sculptures, weavings, paintings, stained glass and mosaics were also chosen to create an atmosphere of warmth and stimulation within the synagogue.
